BOARD MINUTES

August 9, 2007



The regular school board meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m on the Mulberry High School campus board room. All members were present except Jerry Trotter.



The motion was made by Mrs. Walker seconded by Mr. Kimes to approve minutes of the July 12 2007 meeting. Motion carried 6-0.



The Board went into executive session at 6:33 p.m to discuss personnel. . The Board came out of executive session at 7:10 p.m.



The motion was made by Mrs. Walker seconded by Mr. Taylor to accept the resignations presented from Eddie Tweedy and Kristie Trotter. Motion carried 6-0.



The motion was made by Mr. Dunn seconded by Mrs.Walker to accept the Superintendent's recommendation to reassign Anna Jackson from aide to cook and Annalee Lessley from cook to aide at their request. Motion carried 6-0.



The motion was made by Mrs. Walker seconded by Mr. Taylor to accept Superintendent's recommendation to hire Dennis Fisher as bus driver for the 2007-08 school year. Motion carried 6-0.



The motion was made by Mr. Kimes seconded by Mr. Dunn to hire Pearl Taylor and Joyce Belt for the 2007-2008 school year. Mr. Taylor excused himself during this vote. Motion carried 5-0.



The motion was made by Mr. Kimes seconded by Mr. Dunn to accept recommendation from the Superintendent to hire Tom Acord as groundskeeper/maintenance for the 2007-08 school year.



The motion was made by Mrs. Walker seconded by Mr. Kimes to appoint Superintendent as ex-officio financial secretary for the 2007-08 school year. Motion carried 6-0.



The motion was made by Mr. Taylor seconded by Mr. Kimes to pass resolution to only have polling place for the election as absentee vote or early voting at the courthouse (resolution attached). Motion carried 6-0.

The motion was made by Mr. Marvin seconded by Mr. Kimes to deny request from Kristie Trotter on giving the playground equipment donated by Pleasant View PTSO to the Pleasant View Community, since the playground equipment was donated by the Pleasant View PTSO and now belongs to the school district this fixed asset cannot be given away unless deemed useless, if not useless then it would have to be sold. This playground equipment will be used. Motion carried 6-0.



The motion was made by Mr. Kimes seconded by Mrs. Walker to purchase AAA passes for the School Board members. Motion carried 6-0.



The motion was made by Mr. Kimes seconded by Mr. Taylor to amend motion on hiring Tom Acord adding at a rate of $10/hour for 240 days, 8 hours per day. Motion carried 5-0.



The motion was made to adjourn at 7:30 p.m.
